Baby Couture Magazine

These are images from the spring issue of Baby Couture that Wesley shot in Santa Cruz (a few months ago) One shot isn't posted because the lady that scanned the page for us wasn't able to get it to come out clear. I'll post it one of these days when I get a copy of the magazine delivered! Wesley wants to know why his shoes aren't in the picture of him with the plaid shorts on...they were cute! LOL

A Hunting They Will Go...

Boy was this a busy weekend for the little ones! Saturday began with the annual coloring of the Easter Eggs. Wesley did most of the coloring work, he really enjoyed himself. He had to use every sticker that came with the coloring kit to make "themed" eggs. One egg was a "girl egg" it had butterflys and flower stickers on it. Another egg was a "boy egg" it had soccer balls, baseballs, basketballs and a firetruck sticker on it. He also made an animal egg to go with his collection. We tried to let Bryan color eggs too because he was extremely interested in what was going on. I gave him an egg to put into the bowl and he dropped it in there pretty hard and escaped breakage. The second egg that he picked up, he threw really hard into the green coloring and hit the side of the bowl and cracked it in half. That was the end of his egg coloring career for the year.

On Easter Sunday the weather turned out to be beautiful - about 72 degrees. We went out in the backyard for our Easter Egg Hunt. All of the eggs that were found "on the ground" were going to be Bryan's because the Easter Bunny knows that he can't reach way up high. He didn't quite grasp the concept. He'd pick them up and instead of putting them in the basket he'd throw them right back down on the ground where he found it! Wesley ended up with most of the eggs and a TON of goodies. I think he was secretly pleased that he had the advantage being older and able to get more eggs than Bryan. =) After the hunt began the list of questions that popped into Wesley's head. (mind you he's just 4) He had important questions, 1. How did the Easter Bunny get into the backyard. 2. Why were the eggs just in the backyard and not the front yard. 3. What did the Easter Bunny travel in to get to people's houses with all of the baskets? 4. Did the Easter Bunny come down the chimney or come through the front door. There were more but I can't remember the other 10. LOL Later that afternoon we had grandma and grandpa come over for Easter "lunch" and had some yummy Easter food which was followed by yet, another, Easter Egg hunt over at our next-door-neighbors house where Wesley picked up some more goodies! It was a very sugar filled Easter indeed!

Bryan's First Birthday Party!

Today was Bryan's first birthday party. We had a get-together at our house to celebrate. I don't think the guest of honor had any type of a clue that the party was for him. When it was time to sing happy birthday he was looking at everyone like they were insane. It was pretty funny. I was anticipating a spectacular event when it came time for Bryan to "dig in" to his first piece of birthday cake. Much like his big brother's first birthday cake, he didn't seem too interested in it! It turned out to be a beautiful day with temps in the 70's. The kids ran around all day in the backyard and jumped in the bouncy house and we were able to spend some time with our family and friends. Here's some pics from the party.

Old Navy Flop

Very disappointing. That's a way to wrap it all up in 2 words. Bryan's Old Navy ad was supposed to run on their site today. This would be the photo that we had to cut short our travel day for, coming home from Disneyland in December. We rushed our butts off getting our luggage from the airport and throwing it in the car, along with the kids, and drove 85-90MPH to get to San Francisco by 3:30 for Bryan to do the Old Navy shoot. Supposedly they wanted him to come in there because the other baby they booked that morning didn't like the artificial grass they were shooting him on. So we get there and get dressed and primped, he does a fantastic job, they say "great photos" and "you saved the day." Told us he'd be on their site on the 22nd. So we go on the site today, all excited to see him up there and there's a little asian baby on there wearing the outfit sitting on a blanket with a sullen look on his face. Talk about a HUGE disappointment. Why bother having us do all of this when they used the other baby's photo anyhow. This business sucks.

Peek-A-Boo!

Bryan's at the age now where he's really trying to interact with other people and prove that he's a "big boy." His new thing right now is playing peek-a-boo. He LOVES it. We played it all the way to San Jose on Sunday with a blanket in the back seat. Whatever he can grab to use to hide he does. Yesterday evening I was cooking dinner and he was hanging out in the kitchen with me, crawling around. I looked down and he pulled the dish towel (yes, it was clean) off of our oven door and sat down on the floor with it over his head to play Peek-A-Boo. I had to grab some pics of this one...I love this age!

A Great Day at the Beach!

Yesterday we went up to Santa Cruz for Wesley to do his first on-site shoot. It was SO much fun. He got to model 4 different outfits and they took shots of him on the boarkwalk doing different things. They wanted the concept to be "carnival" so he ended up doing a lot of really fun shots. The clothes were AMAZING. They were all high fashion (the stuff we never buy-like at Nordstrom's) Our favorites were a tight yellow raglan tee that had big bird on it that said "Love Your Mom" and another that had an elephant on it that said "Save an animal, boycott the circus." He had a great time and I think he felt a little like an A-list celebrity. Whatever he wanted, they ran and got him. He is so smart, he was able to con a bunch of good treats out of them! In the last frame they gave us money and told me to go get his face painted with an oceanic themed character. We chose the dolphin and he came out so pretty. The magazine is called Baby Coutoure. I'm not sure when the release date is but I'll post it when it comes out...
After the "work" we went for a little stroll on the beach an collected seashells and headed over to the giant arcade where he won enough tickets to get a bunch of rubber bugs. (ewe-gross!) Both of the kids fell asleep on the way home from this eventful day. Since we don't "get out" too much everyone was exhausted. We had such a great day...

A "Giantly" sick household

So here we are today, the first day this week, feeling a bit better. Both kids were down, myself, not to be fogotten, with a terrible illness last week. Snot, high fevers, chills, aches, it was all there. Turns out after all of the tylenol and cough medicine taking that we have strept throat. After 24 hours of ammoxicillin everyone is feeling much better. Hopefully our full routine will resume by tomorrow depending on how everyone is feeling. We have kids running around the house again today and the giants won the superbowl. Oh happy day!
