Pumpkin patching...

I haven't updated this thing FOREVER! Sorry guys. I don't have access to my computer, because of the housing situation, so I've been stuck using my dad's laptop, which shuts off every 5 minutes! (you can imagine my blood pressure after 1 day!) So, I was able to temporarily hook up my dad's internet cable to my computer today and I've been getting a lot done. So, an update, we went to the Silveyville Pumpkin farm on Friday. The boys had good fun! They were able to paint their own little pumpkins and ride some fake horses. We also went on a horse ride trailer through the tree farm. Poor poor Bryan. Bryan put his face in one of those photo cut outs to take his picture. I snapped a photo of him and turned around for a quick second and heard him screaming. He managed to shove his head through the cut out hole and got stuck. Dear god, it took a bunch of people that worked at the farm to finally dislodge his head from the wood. He was screaming bloody murder the entire time. We were all relieved when he finally got out! It is a pretty funny story to tell now though. =) Yesterday we all went to the Cal Academy of Science in Golden Gate Park. We were lucky enough to score some free tickets from the marketing manager who sent them to us as a special "thank you" for Wesley being part of their ad campaign. It was really cool there and we all had a great time. The boys took a pic with the gallapagos turtle there. After the Academy we hit up a nearby playground park that they got to run around like crazies and let out their energy at. It was so nice to get away!

Kindergarten-er

Wesley started his first day of Kindergarten yesterday. He is having a good time at school and is really trying to learn. He was excited to see that half of his t-ball team is in his class and he has 2 friends in his class from his preschool class last year. We were happy to find out that he got the most requested teacher in the school, Mrs. Herout, who happens to be EXTREMELY nice and now I know why the mom's and kids all love her.

Things are going well EXCEPT for the one little boy in his class that "got detention" 8 times yesterday for trying to cut kids with his scissors (yes, isn't that just lovely -detention is the "naughty chair") and our update on this child today was that he was trying to draw all over the walls with his crayons. Wesley is so laid back he watches all of the kids and gives me a daily report. I actually find it amusing. hehehe

STILL Holding...

Holding On...Waiting. Still. Wesley went to an audition for the tv show Amercia's Most Wanted last week, August 5th. He did a really good job. We got a call the next day from his agent that they direct booked him on another on camera project for next week and he is on hold for it. It shoots the 17th - 19th. The not so fun part about this all is the word "hold." That means they are considering him for the role and they want you to keep all of those dates open in case they want to use him. SOOO, you basically sit and wait and sometimes they're not even nice enough to call and let you know that they've "released you" from the hold. Then you have the 3 days you blocked off to sit at home and do nothing! Fun-o! We're still waiting to hear about the hold and the America's Most Wanted taping, which isn't until the 22nd!

On another note, he is doing two print shoots back to back, tomorrow and Friday. They're both going to be fun for him. Tomorrow is with the CA Academy of Sciences, which is this WONDERFUL place in Golden Gate Park. They are going to take a photo of him looking up at butterflies (cool!) And his shoot on Friday is for a toy & sticker company, which he will be able to pick a gift when he is done. I'd be happy to get a free ticket to the Academy of Science since it's almost $30 to go! (wink, wink ;)

Leaping Leapfrog!

My friend just called me to let me know she was shopping on the LeapFrog website and noticed Wesley's photos in an online demo and webpage. These are from the toybox he did when he was 3 years old. The gift that keeps on giving! This actually may entitle him to residuals! (which would be cool!)

A Day Out With Thomas & More

Yesterday we ventured up to Felton, by Santa Cruz, for the Day out with Thomas event. Bryan is really into trains and Wesley is kind of over it all at this age, but he still did enjoy it all. We rode on Thomas, the boys got tattoos and face painting and we went to the boardwalk right afterwards. We went to the beach this morning and checked out some of the sea lions that were barking at the end of the pier. The boys have been imitating them today barking, it's pretty funny. Poor Bryan took a spill last night running on the boardwalk and did a face skid on the cement. End results are lovely scabs over and under his right eye. =( We had a great time though and can't wait to go back to the boardwalk!

Just found this shot of Wesley online. There should be 4 more shots that he's in but I haven't found them yet... 2 of them were Christmas related and the other two had to do with laptops. One was him putting a laptop into a backpack and the other was him typing on a laptop. Keep your eyes out for me! =) I have to say they did an excellent job with casting on this one. The little girl, Isabel, looks just like Wesley!

Poor Noah

We bought Wesley a beta fish a little over 3 years ago at our local Walmart and he had been such an easy pet. We were surprised that the thing managed to live so long. So, bad story, I'm a fish murderer. We were leaving for camping on Saturday afternoon so on Friday I thought it would be a wonderful idea to make a batch of brownies to bring along with us on our camping trip. I was in the kitchen pulling down a stack of heavy mixing bowls (which are glass) and I set them on the kitchen counter rather harshly. Long story short, the big bowl hit the fish bowl and the fish bowl broke. Fish came tumbling across the counter and onto the floor. It was just laying there barely moving so I grabbed a mixing bowl and put water in it really quickly to keep it alive. Apparently the water I used was extremely cold and Noah was fighting for life. I warmed it up a bit with warm water but it was too late. Not sure if he died from the big fall or from the ice cold water.
The interesting thing about this is that Wesley was at his grandma's house when this happened. Jimmie and I were worried how he was going to handle all of this. He actually didn't notice until yesterday, a whole 5 DAYS LATER, that the fish and the bowl were gone. He asked "mommy, uh, where's Noah?" I told him he died and he said "oh."

KOA Camping

We went camping at the KOA in Cloverdale this past weekend. There was a little pond that Wesley fished in for a few hours. He was so determined to catch a fish. He did get one after 3 1/2 hours but it slipped back into the water when Jimmie went to hand it to him, so unfortunately, we didn't get a shot of him with his little friend. There were a couple of resident ducks that we heard quacking at all hours of the night and morning. We ended up having a nice time though.

At Last!

I went to Office Depot today to pick up some shipping supplies and I finally found an SD card for my cell phone! All the pics I've had for the past 5 years have been trapped and they're released from cell phone jail! Here's some pics from Wesley's San Disk Shoot that he did back in Feb!

A Hollywood Star!

So, I know that this blog is about our family and our boys but we just got great news today that one of Wesley's friends, Tyree, just heard from NBC that he has been booked on the Parenthood Pilot with a recurring role. There were 2 other boys in Wesley's acting class and Tyree was one of them, which is how we met him and his family. We're excited for him and his family. NBC will be flying him down to LA for his shoots. Keep an eye out for him this fall! Way to go Tyree!!!

Marin Fair

We hit up the Marin Fair again this year. We missed it last year because it only runs for 5 days and Jimmie was working. This year we went out there and they boys had a good time. Once you pay for admission, all the rides are free. We missed the free kids day this year but it was still worth it in the long run because the boys went on almost every ride and some 3 times (the big slide!) Wesley was bound and determined to go on the ferris wheel. I am afraid of heights (not so much heights but it's the actual falling from them) so Jimmie brought him up on that one. Bryan actually rode all of the kiddie rides for the first time. When I had taken him to Marine World a couple months ago, I'd put him on the rides and he would scream to get off before they even started. This time, he went on over 10 rides and loved them all. Here's a picture of them going down the big slip slide together.

Delays

Ok, I haven't posted anything new in awhile! It's hard to find time to get on here. Time to catch up! A week and a half ago we went to the Sausalito Children's Museum, where the first Wednesday of the month is free family day. Wesley LOVED this place last year and the year prior so I thought it would be a fun outing. However, this year he's "too old" for it. He said he was bored and thought it was boring. He was also too tall to go into the tot area. (that's what happens when you have a tall child!) Bryan had a blast though. He enjoyed splashing in the water of the tot fish pond area and his favorite was the train building where there's a big train table. (that goes on and on) This is the spot where we had to coax him out after an hour or so.

Train Table Building

This is a photo of the boys behind the plexiglass magnet thingy where they drag the magnetic fish around. It took Bryan a little bit to figure out that he needs to keep the magnet on the glass and not pull it off. But he finally got the concept by watching Wesley.

Model of the Month

We found this website through model friends who have been featured. Wesley was selected as Model of the Month for July. His bio and photos went up on the site today. If you go to their website you can find his photo on the bottom blue square and click on it!

The Graduate...

Wesley's Preschool Graduation was last night at his school. The kids sang 5 songs and sang a couple of their chapel songs (which are a kick) during their performance. Each child in the graduating classes had their names announced and received a pre-kindergarten diploma. The parents also received their end-of-the-year gift which is a binder full of pictures of their child at school doing different activities and playing with different friends as well as projects they've done throughout the year. This is a really cool idea and the teachers spend a lot of time working on them for us. Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Deedee and Uncle Matt also came to watch Wesley perform last night. He was so cute and said he's really really really really really going to miss preschool. Bryan enjoyed eating the cookies at the reception. He couldn't shove them into his mouth quickly enough.

Bathtime Fun

The boys were in the bath the other night being silly. Wesley would say "take my picture mommy" and Bryan would retort with "take my picture too, now!" (he's become quite the bossy little thing!) Wesley enjoys sporting his bubble mohawk and Bryan tries to act like a sea monster.

Where have all the naps gone?

Take a look at this picture cause it's something that rarely happens around here anymore. My lovely SLEEPING child has decided that naps are a thing of the past. He is TOO busy doing things that he doesn't want to fall asleep for anything! For about the past year, he's been doing 1 long nap in the afternoons. Usually around 2-3pm and he would sleep for 3-4 hours. Now, he is finally tired enough to go to sleep around 5pm (calculate this and you'll figure out what time we get to bed at night) and sleeps for about 2 hours or so, waking up irritable and cranky. You'll see that he has to sleep, day or night, with his cars. hehehe He takes them to bed with him, one in each hand, big or small...funny guy. Time check: 5:43pm. Better late than never?
