Right now, we're prepping for our 7 day vacation that we leave for on Monday, May 5th. (next week!) I've washed & folded about 5 loads of laundry and still have about 2-3 more loads to go. Yes, I do tend to let it pile up until the weekend which ends up being easier to have Jimmie help watch the kids while I do my cleaning. Anyhow, we are going to Carlsbad, CA. down near sunny San Diego for our vacation this year. (about 10 miles from where the triathelete just got killed by the great white shark...nice) Besides worrying about that, I'm working on some of the packing and thinking about ALL of the other stuff that we have to haul around. (2 car seats, diapers, stroller, formula, baby food, feeding supplies, beach stuff, clothes, etc.) That is what I'm doing today. Wesley and Jimmie went to watch the remote control airplanes fly in a competition here in town.
Bryan has the get-in-to's. He's trying to kill himself recently, climbing up the couch, beds, standing on toys, slipping on toys. He first figured out that if he pulled all of the decorative pillows off of the couch and stacked them and then stood on them that he could get up onto the couch. Now, he's decided to forget the pillows and muscle his way up. He can't be left alone for a second. He's completely opposite of Wesley when he was a baby!
Well, we'll post pics of our vacation when we get back next week...

San Francisco
I took the kids to the city today, to Chrissy Fields where there are lots of dogs and there was a lot of wind. When we left our house it was about 77 degrees and when we got to Chrissy Fields it was about 67 degrees and extremely windy! I got a couple of shots of Wesley with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background. Bryan is incapable of standing up on the concrete so he didn't get in a photo this time. This is his very first GGB pic and definitely won't be the last!
Wesley had a shoot for a Macy's ad today. He had to shoot with a fake daddy for their Father's Day Ad, who by the way happened to be a very attractive young man from Portugal. (I guess my kids look portuguese, I know they don't look half black but I never would've guessed portuguese? HUH) Well, he happened to look quite a bit like Wesley, same skin color/tone etc. He had a lot of fun with his fake daddy Nuno. He put him up on his shoulders, span him around on his back, played baseball with him, ran with him, and they even had to do some facial touching and giggles. It was like having a surrogate father for an hour and a half! They were very cute together and he knew how to get Wesley to laugh and smile.
We started out in an RV where they were steaming the clothes for Wesley. He got dressed and then they took us up the road in a van to the site. Wesley was being very quiet and not talking to anyone. When we got to the site and the driver parked the van he whispered to me "Mommy, am I going to get a shot in my leg?" I thought that was so cute. He kept hearing everyone say that we had to go to get the "shot" done before the sun started to set. And he thought that he was going to have to get a shot. Poor kid. He was sitting there suffering in his mind!

Bike-A-Thon

Wesley had his bike-a-thon at school today. The kids had a lot of fun riding around in circles for about 10 minutes. They biked in the school parking lot and had a policeman on site with his bicycle to teach the kids "bike safety" and encourage them as the rode along. They were pretty cute on their bikes, one little girl kept running over the orange cones and then she would stop. All the kids behind her would come to a screeching hault and almost collide (which did happen twice!) They had a great time and got to burn off energy before class started. The first pic is of Wesley and his classmates. Wesley's buddy Jake, in the green sweater, was a ham today. He rode around the trail without training wheels on his bike AND he would put his feet up on the bar and coast. Doing tricks at just 4 - what a dare devil!

Baby Couture Magazine

These are images from the spring issue of Baby Couture that Wesley shot in Santa Cruz (a few months ago) One shot isn't posted because the lady that scanned the page for us wasn't able to get it to come out clear. I'll post it one of these days when I get a copy of the magazine delivered! Wesley wants to know why his shoes aren't in the picture of him with the plaid shorts on...they were cute! LOL

A Hunting They Will Go...
Boy was this a busy weekend for the little ones! Saturday began with the annual coloring of the Easter Eggs. Wesley did most of the coloring work, he really enjoyed himself. He had to use every sticker that came with the coloring kit to make "themed" eggs. One egg was a "girl egg" it had butterflys and flower stickers on it. Another egg was a "boy egg" it had soccer balls, baseballs, basketballs and a firetruck sticker on it. He also made an animal egg to go with his collection. We tried to let Bryan color eggs too because he was extremely interested in what was going on. I gave him an egg to put into the bowl and he dropped it in there pretty hard and escaped breakage. The second egg that he picked up, he threw really hard into the green coloring and hit the side of the bowl and cracked it in half. That was the end of his egg coloring career for the year.
On Easter Sunday the weather turned out to be beautiful - about 72 degrees. We went out in the backyard for our Easter Egg Hunt. All of the eggs that were found "on the ground" were going to be Bryan's because the Easter Bunny knows that he can't reach way up high. He didn't quite grasp the concept. He'd pick them up and instead of putting them in the basket he'd throw them right back down on the ground where he found it! Wesley ended up with most of the eggs and a TON of goodies. I think he was secretly pleased that he had the advantage being older and able to get more eggs than Bryan. =) After the hunt began the list of questions that popped into Wesley's head. (mind you he's just 4) He had important questions, 1. How did the Easter Bunny get into the backyard. 2. Why were the eggs just in the backyard and not the front yard. 3. What did the Easter Bunny travel in to get to people's houses with all of the baskets? 4. Did the Easter Bunny come down the chimney or come through the front door. There were more but I can't remember the other 10. LOL Later that afternoon we had grandma and grandpa come over for Easter "lunch" and had some yummy Easter food which was followed by yet, another, Easter Egg hunt over at our next-door-neighbors house where Wesley picked up some more goodies! It was a very sugar filled Easter indeed!

Bryan's First Birthday Party!
Today was Bryan's first birthday party. We had a get-together at our house to celebrate. I don't think the guest of honor had any type of a clue that the party was for him. When it was time to sing happy birthday he was looking at everyone like they were insane. It was pretty funny. I was anticipating a spectacular event when it came time for Bryan to "dig in" to his first piece of birthday cake. Much like his big brother's first birthday cake, he didn't seem too interested in it! It turned out to be a beautiful day with temps in the 70's. The kids ran around all day in the backyard and jumped in the bouncy house and we were able to spend some time with our family and friends. Here's some pics from the party.
